What is LOCA?

Founded in 2011 by Abbey Robertson and Elena Awbrey, the Ladies of Comedy Association (LOCA) is a nationwide networking organization dedicated to advancing the careers of women who work in comedy. We have 2 sister groups- Industry and Talent- that meet regularly, produce events, and more. Our Industry group has over 600 members in LA, NYC, Chicago, Austin, Boston, and Nashville, and includes broadcast and cable network executives, agents, managers, publicists, lawyers, casting directors, producers, venue owners, talent bookers, and more. Our Talent group has over 600 members in LA, NYC, and Chicago with six more city chapters launching in 2023.

LOCA has partnered with, consulted for, and co-produced shows for organizations and festivals including Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Pro, New York Comedy Festival, BANFF, JHRTS, Funny Women Festival, NY Women in Film & TV, and ImMEDIAte Justice.
